APPLICANTS: Please read these instructions carefully.
Thank you for your interest in scholarships and awards at the UIC College of Pharmacy. The application process for this year's competition begins on Dec. 9, 2013.
Each year, the College of Pharmacy's Scholarships and Awards Committee reviews student applications in consideration for the conferring of these academic and service scholarships and awards. Recipients are notified by February 21, 2013, and are required to attend the Honors Convocation on April 4, 2013, to be recognized in person. Recipients are welcome to invite guests to attend the ceremony.
NOTE: All scholarship applications require login with your UIC GoogleApps account. If you have not yet activated yours, please visit http://accc.uic.edu/service/googleapps for more information.
Nominating yourself for consideration is a two-step, online process:
All personal information and award nomination forms must be completed and submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. Fall 2013 GPAs will be provided by the Office of Student Affairs and taken into consideration by the committee during the review process. Late applications will not be accepted. Recipients and non-recipients will be notified in writing by the Scholarships and Awards Committee.
All scholarships are processed through the university payables office. The university will apply scholarships to loans and/or encumbrances. Scholarships are considered income and are taxable if the recipient has no encumbrances or loans.
Recipients are required to attend the Honors Convocation on April 4, 2013, to be recognized in person. Non-attendance at this event will result in forfeiture of your award.
The awards and monetary amounts listed are based on previous information and are subject to modification. Select awards included in the Honors Convocation are determined entirely by objective factors (class standing, year in PharmD program, etc.), by specific academic departments within the College, by student organizations, by results of simulated patient counseling competitions or through separate award application processes, etc., and not by the Scholarships and Awards Committee.
The Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs facilitates the awarding of scholarships to students, giving generous alumni and corporate donors the opportunity to commit a tangible contribution to the education and future of a College of Pharmacy student. In the 2012-13 academic year, more than $160,000 in such gifts were available to students as scholarships and awards.
